Anna Lunoe’s latest single ‘Deep Blue Sea’ gets a makeover from Iraqi-Australian producer Motez.
Picking up the pace, Motez transforms ‘Deep Blue Sea’ into a sweet and speedy, melodic-techno confection. The four to the floor rhythm is adorned with bit crushed textures and shimmering arpeggiated synths, with textured garage percussion weaving through the production. Motez lets the track ebb and flow, holding space for Anna’s emotive spoken word.
Motez shares, “I love the original so much especially its sense of euphoria and hope, so I wanted to hone in on those elements and turn up the emotional aspects (as well as the BPM) of the original up a notch.”
Anna has a huge 2024 ahead, set to play Wildlands festival over New Years Eve and supporting Chemical Brothers in March. Motez kicked off 2023 by supporting Partiboi69, promptly followed up with a remix of Flume’s ‘Sirens.’ Previous releases include official remixes for Disclosure, Sam Smith, and Ellie Goulding.
