Emerging Naarm/Melbourne producer and DJ Erika Ever today marks her new artist project with nocturnal debut single ‘2 Hours’, featuring London via Melbourne-based rap artist Teether.

Steadily building momentum across Melbourne’s electronic underground as a DJ under her former alias Chaotiic GoodErika Ever’s landscape incorporates electroclash and global sounds to build unique and refreshing club sets that has seen support slots alongside Underscores, daine, Juicy Romance, LSDXOXO and festivals including Vivid Sydney, Beyond The Valley and more.

Stepping forward as a producer with a sound imbued with jersey club, footwerk and cloud rap, Erika Ever’s debut single ‘2 Hours’ launches today in collaboration with Teether, released on Nina Las Vegas’ NLV Records (Ninajirachi, Lady Shaka). On the single, Erika Ever shares “I wanted my first track to be an amalgamation of all my favourite corners of club music, equal parts dark and brash and fun. Teether was one of the first people I wanted to work with as I’ve loved his music for years. Although he is in London now, we met when he was based down my end in the West, so this felt like a really fitting intro to what Erika Ever music will be and the perspective it has come from.”

As a solo artist, a member of Too Birds, and an in-demand collaborator, Teether has a deep dive catalogue of releases to his name. From his latest project with Kuya Neil with their debut album YEARN IV to working with New York rapper billy woods and supporting Kim Gordon in Melbourne in 2024, there is no cadence like Teether’s. Rich in self-assured storytelling, Teether furthers Erika Ever’s sentiment “Soon as I heard this beat I was gassed! I don’t recall the specifics but my part came together quite quickly once I locked in to write it. The initial mix was sent through while I was on a Greek island and that experience is very vivid. Very happy to be part of this one you know.”

With ‘2 Hours’, Erika Ever carves out a transportive space that is motivated by the community she’s cultivated through years immersed in the electronic underground scene. Finding fans through mixes she’s done for triple j and fbi radio as well as her presence on the live cricut, she balances instinct with clear-eyed sonic vision.
