Ninajirachi‘s debut EP Lapland emerged an intimate first exploration into the producer’s inner workings. The release arrived as culmination of years spent refining her club ready, electronic pop sound.

Over seven-tracks, she experiments with form, genre & sound design. The EP’s opener ‘Lapland’ matches glistening beats with distorted, pastel-infused vocals. ‘Human’ with longtime collaborator & childhood friend, Freya Staer, remains one of her most intimate tracks, while her collaborations with Oh Boy in ‘Gardenia Pt. I’ & ‘II’ showcase the pair’s mutual love for club music in a complex & respectful way. ‘Pathetic’ with Naah moves through the middle of the EP, while ‘Glass’ with Sequel resurrects an older production from the pair, focussing on the interweaving of the track’s inner textures. Finally, the EP rounds out with ‘Voss’, a mind-blowingly complex production that truly highlights the breadth of Ninajirachi‘s creative talent.
