Lewis Cancut‘s debut EP Indoor Rainforest rounded out a strong 2016 for NLV Records. The six-track EP featured a range of collaborators, including a reunion with TIGARAH that was recorded at RBMA studios in Tokyo alongside the pair’s previous single, ‘Say Ok’.

Over the six-tracks, Cancut takes us on a journey, accented by rubbery textures, blooming melodies & canopies of percussive sound design that are crafted to feel both articulate & complex.

The EP’s title track ‘Indoor Rainforest’ plays with rhythm, while ‘Body Querty’ focuses on melody. ‘Dream Like’ with TIGARAH sees the pair letting loose, while ‘Ice Cream & Asphalt’ with vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku blurs the lines between real and hyperreal.
‘Like Water’ with Tshila is a certified club stomper, & leads us to the track’s closer, ‘Plastic Garden’; a soothing contrast to the clubby chaos of the rest of the EP.
