Gold Fang – Pull It Up

Today, Gold Fang shares his latest single and video ‘Pull It Up’ out now via NLV Records.

‘Pull It Up’ is another razor sharp release from Gold Fang and follows the same rebellious spirit as his previous single ‘Badness Issa Habit’, both of which were written on a recent trip to London made possible with CreateNSW Funding. Produced by UK-based RasEyeVii (D Double E, J Styles, HeavyTrackerz), ‘Pull It Up’ is dripping with a quintessential grime flavour, containing every bit of Gold Fang’s hallmark deviousness and high-energy confidence through low-end heavy, chopped-and-screwed guitars, menacing keys and wavy basslines.

Of the track’s conception, Gold Fang shares ‘Pull It Up’ is a fun song I feel like the age of music is becoming a bit more about enjoyment rather than being deep… don’t get me wrong deep songs are just as good but I feel like I enjoy music more when I’m not thinking to much pull it up is a fun song u can sing with friends family…issa summer one that I think would be hard in dem clubs.” Today’s release also comes with a music video directed by frequent video collaborator, The Sesh. Pulled together on a whim, the video takes place in a car yard, with Fang’s on stage dancers adding movement to the tracks hard 808s and vocal melody.

With last month’s release ‘Badness Issa Habit’, Gold Fang continues to increase the energy. Embraced by triple j, triple j Unearthed, Acclaim Magazine, Purple Sneakers, Pilerats and AUD$ amongst others, ‘Badness Issa Habit’ was praised for it being like “nothing else in the scene right now” (Acclaim Magazine) and “exactly the right balance of space and punch” by Richard Kingsmill (triple j).

Since the release of his debut mixtape, SMOOVE KILLA, a 15-track project that explored Gold Fang’s identity, culture, talent, and community, Gold Fang has steadily cemented his position at the forefront of the thriving Afro-Caribbean space. Celebrating momentum as a touring artist, he has supported international heavy-hitters Lil Nas X, Fire Boy DML and J Balvin, play iconic festivals including SXSW Sydney, Field Day, Splendour in the Grass and Promiseland and co-headline shows across New Zealand and Australia with JessB.

Gold Fang is currently on a tour run alongside SAFIA and will soon be performing at Beyond The Valley to round out the year. More details BELOW.
