GOLD FANG HOUSECALL COVER FA sml

Gold Fang – Remedy

Remedy’ is Trinidadian born, Sydney based artist Gold Fang’s take on Shabba Ranks & Maxi Priest’s 1991 collaboration ‘Housecall’. ‘Remedy’ is the latest taste of his forthcoming debut mixtape SMOOVE KILLER due March 24 on NLV Records.

After the release of the dark, UK-rap inspired track ‘Mi Nuh Like’ in February, ‘Remedy’ slows the pace with a sultry take on a reggae classic. Gold Fang aimed to “bring new light to a song that’s been out for a minute, and bring light to a sound that the youth don’t know about.”

Putting the ‘smooth’ in Gold Fang’s persona SMOOVE KILLER, Gold Fang showcases his effortless vocals for the first time alongside warm brass and whirling synths.
Remedy’ demonstrates Gold Fang’s versatility as an artist, switching between rap, dancehall and club sounds with each release in the lead-up to his mixtape.

Standing tall amongst dancehall and reggae counterparts including Vybz Kartel, WizKid, and Popcaan, Gold Fang wraps a masterful balance of cultural authenticity amongst his playful exterior. His steady stream of releases including the summer single ‘Drop’ featuring Naarm-based, Egyptian-Australian vocalist CD, the free-flowing ‘Big Natty Rasta’, ‘Wet’, ‘Make It Snow ft. Dante Knows’ as well as his collaboration with rapper Big Skeez on their anthemic single ‘Where Yuh From’, each release thrust Fang’s ascendent further since his 2021 debut single ‘Light It’ that landed him triple j Unearthed’s Feature Artist.

Gold Fang‘s ‘Remedy’ is out NOW via NLV Records.
