Today, Swick and King Doudou share their Digi Mangal (Remixes) EP, featuring four rapturous reworks from Nina Las Vegas, DJ ADHD, Carli and Strict Face. Expanding on Digi Mangal’s left-of-centre club energy, these remixes traverse worlds including global club and UK bass.

With a creative partnership that first began through their collaborative Internet Dreams EP in 2014, Digi Mangal was sketched out in London in 2018. A shared penchant for global club music, the pair developed the project with the same forward-thinking, playful approach to sound design that first brought them together. “We ate strictly Mangal food delivered by motorcycle, played FIFA and eventually, four years after Internet Dreams, we started to work on some new music together” King Doudou recalls. 

Featuring singles including ‘Calor (ft. Ms Nina)’, ‘Haloumi Drums’ and ‘No Messin Around (feat. Jammz and Geoblu)’, Digi Mangal brought together Swick and King Doudou’s individual creative strengths with an intertwined vision. Today they continue their expansion by enlisting Sweden’s Carli (Savage Skulls, Staygold), UK’s DJ ADHD, longtime collaborator Nina Las Vegas and NLV Records label mate Strict Face for four brand new shapings of their fully-formed club record.

“Really happy with this remix pack, it came together so naturally. It’s a huge honour to have friends and artists whose work I’ve loved for years bring these tracks to life in a new way. All the remixes fit so well into my DJ sets” reveals Swick. Sharing the same sentiment, King Doudou says “For the remix EP, we enlisted producers whose club energy and production style we’ve always admired. From Sweden to Australia, passing through the UK, everyone brought their distinct style, pushing Digi Mangal further into new realms of global club music, a propper dj toolkit built specifically for the floor.” 

Contributing to the world of Swick and King Doudou’s own making is DJ ADHD, an artist who has carved out his own unique sound that blurs between techno and UK bass. Of his iteration of ‘125cc Delivery’ he reveals, “I wanted to take the high energy of the original track and funnel it into a song that I would incorporate into my sets. Rolling basslines with a drum machine lead backbone that is super functional on the dance floor”. 

Joining DJ ADHD is Nina Las Vegas’ bright and punchy remix of ‘Calor (feat. Ms Nina)’, as well as Carli’s effortless eclecticism in ‘No Messin Around (feat. Jammz & Geoblu)’ and Strict Face’s hard-hitting bass cut on ‘Severe Delays’. Elated at the collaboration, Strict Face shares “I’ve been obsessed with “Digi Mangal” since it dropped and have also loved what Danny and Hugo have released (collaboratively and separately) over the years, so it’s an honour to get to remix one of their tracks!”

Digi Mangal (Remixes) followSwick and King Doudou’s Digi Mangal EP, which drew drew wide support from NTS Radio, triple j, BBC Radio, Reprezent Radio, FBi Radio, Rinse FM, RRR and DJ backing from Ben UFO, Tash LC, Jamz Supernova, Conducta, DJ co.kr and umru. Digi Mangal is now available together on limited-edition vinyl, which pairs Digi Mangal with their first project Internet Dreams on the B-side.
